Offseason Questions: Big East Edition

The Big East is one of the most historic conferences in then nation with it bringing college basketball to prominence in the 1980s when Georgetown, Syracuse, UConn, and other great teams provided some incredible teams. Last year was nothing like that, with just two teams over .500 in conference play. They got four teams into the tournament and only won one game between them, but the league wasn't great last year. This season, things look to be much better, with a lot of returning talent for most of the teams, so the conference could get back to its former glory. Butler: Who is going to play center? The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back after missing out on the tournament last season, and they have a nice returning core that should help them compete. They return seventh leading scorer in the Big East Kamar Baldwin, and along with point guard Aaron Thompson, more of a defender and facilitator, will give the Bulldogs a stout backcourt. On the wing, they have knockdown shooter S

Offseason Questions: ACC Edition

The ACC is one of the best conferences in basketball year in and year out, with the reigning national champion Virginia residing in the conference, along with perennial powers Duke and North Carolina. However, early on it is looking like the league will be down next season, with very few teams improving after lots of talented seniors graduate and underclassmen declaring for the draft. With all that being said, here is one question every team will have in the offseason and the situations to monitor leading up to next year. Boston College: Are there more hidden gems? The Eagles look to be in a really tough spot. Just a year ago, they went 19-16, went to the NIT, and had a dynamic backcourt duo of Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman. Robinson left a year early for the NBA, and they struggled to a 14-17 record this year, winning just 5 ACC games. Bowman looks set to leave a year early as well, and now head coach Jim Christian will have to find a way to replace another high scoring guard. H

Who Am I?

With the college basketball season now over, I wanted to take some time to talk about myself. I gained a lot of new readers over the course of the year, and I realized that most of them know very little about me. So, I quickly wanted to go through some stuff about myself as well as a look forward to what I have upcoming with the end of the season. So first, a little about myself. My name is Kevin Perry, and I am a freshman at Syracuse University, majoring in Sport Analytics. I am originally from New Jersey, and I was a varsity basketball player back in my high school days. I first got into college basketball with Trey Burke and Michigan, and I really enjoyed watching that team play. I began following the sport more closely outside of March, watching a lot of Michigan with my love for John Beilein's offense, and I really enjoyed a lot of those teams with guys like Nik Stauskas, Caris Lavert, and Derrick Walton. I am of course now a fan of Syracuse, but I never let my fandom get i

Way, Way Too Early Top 25

Now that the college basketball season is over, it's immediately time to look ahead to next season. I asked on Twitter, follow me @ThreePointRange, if people wanted to see my instant reactions for next season's Top 25, and the people overwhelmingly responded that they did. So, I quickly put this together. One thing to note is that I had to make some assumptions about NBA decelerations, and I didn't guess at any recruits or grad transfers committing. I'll probably update this after the NBA Draft declaration deadline, but without further ado, here's my Way, Way Too Early Top 25. 1. Michigan State Projected Starting 5: Cassius Winston, Joshua Langford, Aaron Henry, Xavier Tillman, Nick Ward The Spartans made a Final Four run this year, and they look poised to be very good once again next season. They have the opportunity to bring nearly their entire roster, with only Matt McQuaid and Kenny Goins graduating. Now, Cassius Winston could make the leap to
